Crape Myrtles are a popular and ornamental tree choice throughout this region of Texas, commonly seen in landscaping around homes, businesses, and even along roadways. While they are beautiful and easy to grow, crape myrtles are vulnerable to scale infestations. This class will cover what crape myrtle scale is, how to identify it, its origins, and how long it has been present in the U.S. You’ll also learn the proper methods and timing for treating scale, as well as how to remove black mold from the trees. Additionally, we’ll discuss how to establish a yearly maintenance routine to keep your crape myrtles scale-free for years to come.
Doug Arnold will be teaching this class.
The class will take place in the smaller building (receiving dock) behind the main/large building you see from the road. Please park in the front of the main building and follow the sidewalk around to the back. You will see a smaller metal building in the back of the property. Head on in and take a seat!
