All About Fruit Trees and Berries

February 18, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Plants of Texas and our guest speaker, Dr. David Creech for a deep dive into how to find success growing fruit trees and berries here in East Texas. With the prices of food rising, now is the time to learn how to grow your own fruit for years to come.

Dr. Creech is a past professor of Horticulture and is the current director of the Mast Arboretum at Stephen F. Austin State University. He has a vast knowledge of woody ornamentals, shade, and fruit tree varieties for our East Texas area. Dr. Creech is a great speaker and educator, and we anticipate this class filling up very quickly.

This class will deep dive into varieties such as, blueberries, muscadines, figs, persimmons, feijoas, peaches, plums, pears, and apples. Dr. Creech will overview different varieties that work for our area and will dive deeper into proper planting, pruning, care and culture.

The class fee is $25. This class will be held at the NEW Plants of Texas location. This class will NOT be held at the tent.

The class will take place in the smaller building (receiving dock) behind the main/large building you see from the road. Please park in the front of the main building and follow the sidewalk around to the back. You will see a smaller metal building in the back of the property. Head on in and take a seat!

You can click the button titled “Reserve Now” to purchase your ticket to this event. No tickets will be mailed out. You simply show up to the event. Tickets must be purchased in advance to reserve your spot. Spots are limited.
