Double Class: Recent Freeze 2021 & All About Crape Myrtles

Come spend time with us under the big white tent and learn about how to know if your landscape has survived the 2021 freeze and all you can ever want to learn about Crape Myrtle bark scale. This is a double class. The first hour will be devoted to learning about what to look for in your existing landscape to determine if the plant needs to be replaced, pruned, sprayed for fungus or insects, or simply given more time after the deep freeze earlier this year. Part two of the class will be a deep dive into how to identify, combat, control, and conquer Crape Myrtle bark scale and how to have healthy Crape Myrtles in your future. All About Fruit Trees and Small Edible Fruit

This class will be all about fruit trees and small fruit. We will discuss everything from varietal selections, insect and disease concerns and how to control them, and the benefits of thinning fruit on peach trees in particular. In addition we will discuss when the best time to prune and how to properly prune. We will also do a how-to demo on properly trellising blackberries. We will cover lots of information, all in an effort to help you achieve better and higher quality fruit production on your plants. In addition, we will learn more about what perennials thrive in shade vs. sun and how to divide the perennials you already have. Fungal and insect identification and discussions will take place too!
