All About Fruit Trees and Berries
Plants of Texas 17470 FM 2493, Flint, TX, United StatesJoin Plants of Texas and our guest speaker, Dr. David Creech for a deep dive into how to find success growing fruit trees and berries here in East Texas. With the prices of food rising, now is the time to learn how to grow your own fruit for years to come. Dr. Creech is a past professor of Horticulture and is the current director of the Mast Arboretum at Stephen F. Austin State University. He has a vast knowledge of woody ornamentals, shade, and fruit tree varieties for our East Texas area. Dr. Creech is a great speaker and educator, and we anticipate this class filling up very quickly. This class will deep dive into varieties such as, blueberries, muscadines, figs, persimmons, feijoas, peaches, plums, pears, and apples. Dr. Creech will overview different varieties that work for our area and will dive deeper into proper planting, pruning, care and culture. The class fee is $25. This class will be held at the NEW Plants of Texas location. This class will NOT be held at the tent.
