Welcome to Intermediate Beekeeping! We will continue to build upon the topics we learned in the Beginner Beekeeping class. One step closer to you feeling confident in owning your own hive! Daniel Lennon with Flint Farm & Apiary will be conducting this class. This class will cover hive inspections, recognizing brood patterns, harvesting honey, and bee behavior. Join Plants of Texas and our guest speaker, Dr. David Creech for a deep dive into how to find success growing fruit trees and berries here in East Texas. With the prices of food rising, now is the time to learn how to grow your own fruit for years to come. Dr. Creech is a past professor of Horticulture and is the current director of the Mast Arboretum at Stephen F. Austin State University. He has a vast knowledge of woody ornamentals, shade, and fruit tree varieties for our East Texas area. Dr. Creech is a great speaker and educator, and we anticipate this class filling up very quickly. This class will deep dive into varieties such as, blueberries, muscadines, figs, persimmons, feijoas, peaches, plums, pears, and apples.
